The Jamb Shield features Jamb Wrapping Technology and easily slides around the lock side of the doorjamb to help prevent the doorjamb from splitting when kicked
While it is difficult to see in pictures, the Jamb Shield is actually a sleeve that simply slides onto your existing jamb. Think 3D - this is not a flat plate.
You do not need to remove your door to install this piece or any of the Door Jamb Armor pieces
At 48-inches long, the longer length of this piece spreads the force of a kick along the length of the supporting stud, making it much more difficult for the jamb to split when kicked
The Standard Jamb Shield is designed to fit locks that are spaced 5.5" apart, on-center
The Universal application fits non-standard lock spacing (from 5 inches to 12 inches on center)
The Jamb Shield is secured to the stud using eight (8) 3-inch screws (included)
Fits both left and right hand doors.
