The Base Door Jamb Armor products were designed for single, 1-3/4-inch thick entry doors.
All of the basic Door Jamb Armor sets (Universal, Ultra, Standard and Mortise) were designed to fit doors with jambs that are 3/4" thick. Most homes built after 1950 have 3/4" jambs standard. Our Adjust-A-Jamb product is designed for doors with jambs from 5/8" to 1-1/4" thick. Adjust-A-Jamb will be available in early July.
We do not currently make Door Jamb Armor for 1-3/8" (interior) doors because these doors are not strong enough to withstand the force of a kick and will break, regardless of how the jamb is reinforced.
Customers seeking to create a safe room in their home should replace their interior (1-3/8") door with an exterior (1-3/4")door (remove the metal sill on the bottom) and apply Door Jamb Armor. |
