Strike Plates
The competitive products that are on the market are actually extended strike plates. While these products are more effective than using nothing at all, in head to head tests, these products have failed where Door Jamb Armor has not.
- Strike plates do not prevent the jamb from splitting when it moves.
- The jamb will still need to be replaced if forced entry is attempted.
- Even longer strike plates cannot be used to repair a badly damaged jamb.
None of the options available address the hinge side of the door, which is just as weak as the lock side.
We often question how our competitors can claim that they tested their products, when even a minimal amount of kicking will cause the door to split or the hinges to crack?
Read the fine print in competitive warranties. It is easy to warranty against the jamb splitting if you know that something else will break first.

Door wedges, or Jammer devices
- Can only be used if you stay inside of your home or if you use an alternate point of exit (which must then be left unsecured)
- Must be disengaged by someone inside of the house in order to allow any entrance
- Unsafe for the elderly... In the event of a fall or ill health, this could present a significant problem.
- Young children could use one of these devices to unintentionally lock you out of the house.
